Friends of the Earth UK  A not-for-profit organization that advocates for a sustainable use of Earth’s resources while advocating for an end to harmful activities to the environment such as pollution, waste and fracking.

Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) uses the power of law to protect the environment, promote human rights, and ensure a just and sustainable society. CIEL seeks a world where the law reflects the interconnection between humans and the environment, respects the limits of the planet, protects the dignity and equality of each person, and encourages all of earth’s inhabitants to live in balance with each other.

IPEN brings together leading public interest groups working on environmental and public health issues in over 100 countries to take action internationally to minimize and, whenever possible, eliminate hazardous, toxic chemicals.

City to Sea UK An organization with a plastics campaign intended to eliminate plastic at the source by focusing their research and advocacy on marine plastic pollution. They also have a refill campaign for water to put an end to plastic water bottle consumption.

Surfrider Foundation Europe Campaigns are centered around ocean conservation and protection and focus on education and promotion of a sustainable use of the ocean.

The English Plastic Bag Charge: Changes in Attitudes and Behavior | REPORT 2016 | Cardiff University | The research found that the charge was effective at breaking old habits, and that it became more popular as people adapted to the policy. Evidence was also found that the charge increased environmental awareness and the acceptability of other environmental policies.

Carrier Bag Charge: Summary of Data in England | REPORT 2015-2018 | Department of Environment | Revealed more than nine billion fewer plastic bags were used since the government introduced a 5p charge, an 83 per cent reduction. More than £95million raised from the charge has been donated to environmental, educational and other good causes.

Wales Single Use Bag Ban | REPORTS | Welsh Government | Includes cost benefit analysis, studies on behaviour change, equality impact assessment, a review of local authorities, assessment of environmental impacts of oxy-degradable, regulatory impact assessment, and full study and review of regulation.

Scotland Proposed Plastic Bag Levy – Extended Impact Assessment | REPORT | Greater environmental benefits will be achieved if paper bags are also subject to the levy. An education and awareness campaign, as used in Republic of Ireland, is seen as beneficial to the introduction of a levy to reinforce to consumers.
